I came to the U.S. in 2001 - 3 weeks before the terrorist attack of the World Trade Center in NY. What a bad timing I thought, me being appointed as a sales and marketing consultant for a German Company in Michigan.
As you may can imagine the assignment was ended short after the 9/11 event. Facing unemployment and an uncertain future her in the U.S., my extensive international Marketing experience and always performed “out-of-the-box-thinking” approach came to my rescue.
SAY GERMAN ACCENT
I used my thick accent to sell German cars. I know, you may think WTH, but even so never sold cars in life before, I did very well and I grew into my career, specializing in Digital and Social Marketing. It brought me so far that my story and success was featured in the Digital Dealer magazine, April 2009.
Making this career in the automotive industry awakened the interest of the Cobalt Group in 2009, who then hired me as their Digital Marketing Ambassador with the duty of building a more evangelist network between car dealers and the industry leader in digital marketing solutions ADP | Cobalt.
Since then I’m frequently traveling the U.S. and conducting Marketing seminars on Digital and Social Media, as well as contributing articles for blogs like SocialMediaToday and DrivingSales.
